Hello Everyone! My Name is Matt Ruotsi and I am the VP of Purchasing for KB Cores. We purchase Engines and Transmissions as HVC (High Value Cores).
Working with PYP, we have uploaded our pricing to your own internal system. I believe they have sorted that list to provide you with our needs and pricing, based upon some minimum dollar value requirements they had set forth to your yards.
Prices in the system are delivered to KB Cores in Kankakee, IL 60901. However, we can arrange freight, send you a BOL, hire the carrier, and pay the carrier, and deduct the quoted amount from your payment. We also have agreed that if your yard can get $25K of value per FTL (Full trailer load 24 pallets or 43,500lbs) we will split the freight cost with the yard. If you can get $30K of value per FTL, KB Cores will pay the entire freight cost per load. (we can currently only offer this on freight that we book with our carrier)
For the majority of yards, the best value in freight is to ship full trailer loads. There are a handful of locations that shipping 12 pallet loads (volume moves) is a far better option. For locations that it is advantageous to ship in 12 pallet loads, We will adjust the requirements to $12.5K value for split freight, and $15K value to pay the freight. 24 pallets are typically an FTL, so 12 is exactly half trailer, but we have to ship it as a "Volume" move which means 12 pallets 40x48, and 18,000 lbs. up to 21,000 lbs. See Ship By Location
I am attaching a list of which yards will ship FTL (Ship by Location), and which yards will ship "Half Loads". Please look for your location on the attachment. I am also attaching a 'Sample Manifest' and a 'Blank Manifest' that you can save under a different date each time and reuse.
The process is once you have a load ready, email me the manifest in Excel format, I will then upload it to our system to generate your LOAD ID number. I will get back to you with this load ID and your freight quote. We will schedule your pickup. Each box you send in must have a Box Label with this number on it.
Please also see the attachment, Core Specifications and Shipping Guidelines, for what is required on engines and transmissions to see if it would qualify as HVC. HVC must be in a Gaylord box on a standard 40x48 pallet, please drain them of fluids and band or shrink/saran wrap the box.
Please reach out via email or my direct line at 708-243-0025 if you have any questions. My team and I will be attending the PYP Leadership Rally this March in Dallas. We look forward to meeting you in person there! Thank you again for the opportunity to serve you!
